COVID-19: How We’re Keeping Our Patients and Staff Safe

As the novel coronavirus COVID-19 spreads through our communities here in Lane County, so does uncertainty. It’s natural to feel concern for ourselves and loved ones. It’s natural to worry about finding the medical treatments we need to maintain our sight and health. But in the face of uncertainty, you can still be certain of this: Just as Sterling Vision has been there for you in the past, we’re here for you now.

The health of your eyes is our priority. And that means ensuring those of you who need sight-saving treatments can still get them. For as long as we’re able, we’ll continue providing the care you need.

During this national public-health emergency, our primary concerns are providing high-quality care, staying updated as new information emerges and reducing patients’ and our medical staff’s potential exposure to the virus.

If you need treatment to maintain your sight or prevent damage to your eyes, we encourage you to keep your appointment. You can feel confident we’ve taken every possible measure to ensure your wellbeing.

Prior to your visit, we’ll explain those measures to you. And in return, we’ll ask that you work with us to prevent further spread of this virus.

If you feel ill, please call before visiting. We’re prepared to provide telehealth services using remote communications technologies. We’ve already established a HIPAA-compliant telemedicine system. This system allows for continued personal, face-to-face interactions between you and your provider. They are private appointments you can make from the comfort of your home using a smartphone, tablet or home computer. Our telemedicine platform uses Doxy.me software, which you can access from any popular desktop or mobile browser (Safari, Chrome, Edge and Firefox). We’ll email detailed connection instructions prior to your scheduled appointment.

As a reminder, if you have a viral illness or worry you may have been exposed, stay in and give us a call. But please do not visit our practice unannounced. Only our collective efforts to be responsible can hasten our return to normalcy.
